Ki-Won was the first refugee rescued from TheHundred Campaign. If you want to be involved in helping us rescue the remaining 100 visit http://linkglobal.org/thehundred/

Ki-Won is 75 years old. Born in China after his parents fled North Korea during Japanese colonization, he returned to North Korea in his 20s and married Hayoung a year later. In his 60s, Ki-Won escaped to China with Hayoung to find food.

Since Ki-Won had been out of China – his birthplace – for 40 years, the Chinese government denied him citizenship, so the couple hid in the underground for over 10 years until LiNK brought them out into our Southeast Asia shelter.

Mi-Sun #3 (http://chapters.linkglobal.org/campaigns/refugee_3)
Mi-Sun, 23, was one of the first refugees rescued from TheHundred Campaign. If you want to be involved in helping us rescue the remaining 100 visit linkglobal.org/thehundred/.

In North Korea, Mi-Sun dropped out of middle school and headed to the market to earn money for her family.

Unable to get out of poverty, Mi-Sun escaped to China and again to Southeast Asia where she is now being protected in LiNK’s shelter until she is resettled to the US.

The Underground (Joseph)
Stripped of dignity as a result of being trafficked, exploited, tortured or silenced, North Korean refugees initially come to our shelters expecting only to find basic necessities. However, our goal is to equip them with the tools they need to thrive when they move on, to recognize that their voices are worthy of being heard. In 2006, LiNK brought three boys - one of whom was Joseph - out of China to safety in the US, where they have become the first North Korean Unaccompanied Refugee Minors to arrive. Help us bring 100 more out of the underground. http://linkglobal.org/thehundred
